Get MORE Facebook Fans & Likes
When you have a website, there are three different types of visitors that you are going to have, and all of the different types are drawn by different venues. Let’s take a look at the different types and see what brings them in. This way, you can target marketing to specific visitor types.

1. The surfer

The surfer is usually brought in when they see an interesting link or advertisement. They are just looking around on the Internet and stop when something piques their interest. They are going to be brought in by advertising links, web directories and ad impressions.

2. The browser

The browser is the person who likes to read information. They look at the websites and they read what is on there. The browser is the type of person that is going to like reading articles and will likely sign up for opt-in lists.

3. The searcher

The searcher is the one knows what they are looking for. They are the reasons why webmasters work on their search engine optimization and their higher page rankings in search engines. The searcher is the type of person that most webmasters like to concentrate on.

Even though searchers are the ones who most webmasters concentrate on, all of the people listed here are important. That is why different types of web services are all important because different types of people have different ways of getting to a website. Everyone that is on the Internet is a possible client or a customer, so they should all be catered to in the ways that they like best. You don’t want to miss a possible customer because you didn’t have the write advertising service on your website for them.

You will never know what may attract someone to a website. If you only carter to people who are surfers and searchers, you are going to find that the browsers are going to go to somewhere else to get their information that they are looking for. You should never discount someone simply because you don’t think that they are going to be interested in coming to your website. You never know what is going to make people come to a website.

Just like when a retail store advertises on television, radio, newspaper and Internet, you should use all of your different ways to advertise your website. This way you get the most amount of visitors and interested people to your website in the shortest amount of time.

Targeted Email Advertising

While both marketing and sales are dependent on each other many people confuse marketing with sales and vice-versa which is a big mistake.

Marketing and sales are one of the most important components of a business?s survival in the market. Marketing involves designing a product according to the needs of the market and customers, promoting the product through advertising etc. and setting up a competitive price for the product. Marketing is a platform which drives sales. While on the other hand, the sales process is how to successfully sell a product and fetch a contract. Sales and marketing together is a part of selling and one cannot do without the other. They can also be called activities. The success of a business is critical to the success of these two important activities.Marketing is the backbone of a company?s future and launching pad for the sales. While the marketing process encompasses the design of the product, advertising etc. the sales process is the execution of all the efforts which involves direct interaction with client, either by in-person meeting or cold calls or by networking. But there is always an ongoing rivalry between the two, one claiming dominancy over other. The marketing people say they have an upper hand because they think it is they who designs the products, lays down the strategy and also develops tools essential for sales. They say sales are the outcome of marketing and thus should follow its directions. The sales people might not agree to this view and may be completely opposite in their opinion. They think that it is the sales people who actually sells a product and bring money to the business. But many experts believe that marketing should play a pivotal role among the two. A successful marketing campaign makes sales easy and makes people believe that it is actually the sales people who are the dominant leaders. The most important role of marketing department is to create opportunities for the sales department. Marketing drives sales and sales drives companies? success. Marketing is like a life support for sales, one who is constantly backing up the sales department and enabling them to successfully deliver the end product. There shouldn?t be a race to gain supremacy over another department but a race to win the market and customers working together. Many businesses combine sales and marketing together but in reality they have different targets. While the sales department is interested in fulfilling the requirements of what the customer asked for, the marketing department is actually busy studying what the market demands. The goal of the marketing department is to foresee how the market will shape up in future. They should envision their product catering to the needs of the market for next few years and be ready to make design changes in their product accordingly. It is very important that a company integrates their sales and marketing department in a well fashioned manner. It is the correct integration of these two important entities that fuels the growth of a company. The sale people should not be merely treated as the cash collectors. Each department has its own role and should go hand in hand in selling the product of the company and should be the foremost important criteria.

Web banners are online ads that are delivered to the Internet by ad servers. Banner advertising is important in that they attract traffic to websites. These ads are constructed from images, mostly GIF, and from the likes of Flash and Shockwave, and they often come with sound, animation, or even video. Web banners are placed in sites with interesting content and affiliates get to earn on a cost per click (CPC) basis. Banners are used to enhance brand awareness, to spread ideas, to make notifications, and to sell products. There are several banner advertising methods from which you could choose.

1. Traditional banners – traditional banners were rectangular in form and some people still use them. The different banner sizes were leader board, measuring 728 x 90 pixels, full banners, measuring 658 x 60 pixels, and half banners, measuring 234 x 60 pixels. These banners run across Web pages, but normal skyscraper, measuring 120 x 600 by pixels and wide skyscraper measuring 160 x 600 pixels run down the side of Web pages.

2. Pop-up ads – pop-up banner ads have been used for many years. As the term suggests, these ads pop-up whenever someone visits a Web page. These ads are however ineffective today since Web users are using pop-up blockers.

3. Floating ads – floating banner ads appear when a visitor first visits a Web page and they ‘float’ over the Web page for between 5 and 30 seconds. With this Internet banner advertising method, ads obscure the visitor’s view of the Web page and they often block the mouse input. These ads are advantageous in that they are animated, they cannot be ignored, they can have video/audio content, and they have a high click-through rate (currently at 3%).

4. Interstitial ads – interstitial Web pages appear between the requested Web pages. These pages load in the background, meaning they are the best ads if you are trying to deliver an ad that is graphics rich, an applet, or streaming media.

5. Unicast ads – Unicast banner ads are basically TV commercials running in the browser window. These ads have enriched video/audio content and they last between 10 and 30 seconds. Web surfers can click on the ads for more information.

Other types of banner ads that are used in banner advertising are takeover ads, which are large ads that just do not go away, contextual banner ads, which are placed in content-based sites, animated banners like rotating banner ads and scrolling banner ads. Others include pop-over banner ads, pop-under banner ads, rich media banner ads, drop-down menu banner ads which contain HTML code, fixed panel banner ads, XXL box banner ads, and corner peel banner ads. Consider hiring pro for banner ad management.
